Fans of the Wizarding World eager for updates on the new HBO Harry Potter series will be interested to hear about Paapa Essiedu's current work. Essiedu, who is set to play the iconic Severus Snape, is currently starring in a high-profile revival of Arthur Miller's classic play, All My Sons.

The production opened in October 2025 at Wyndham's Theatre in London. It's directed by Ivo van Hove and boasts a strong cast, including the highly respected Bryan Cranston. Seeing Essiedu in a demanding theatrical role like this offers a fantastic opportunity to appreciate the depth and range he will undoubtedly bring to the complex character of Snape.

While Essiedu is treading the boards, the HBO series itself is already in full swing. Filming for the first season began in summer 2025 at Leavesden Studios, and the ambitious project plans to adapt each of J.K. Rowling's seven books across seven seasons over the next decade. The series is set to premiere in early 2027. It's exciting to see a performer of Essiedu's calibre taking on such a beloved and pivotal role.
