In a recent exclusive interview, Daniel Radcliffe, known globally for his portrayal of Harry Potter, touched upon the highly anticipated HBO series adaptation. While primarily promoting his new NBC comedy, The Fall and Rise of Reggie Dinkins, Radcliffe also shared his perspective on the wizarding world’s return to the screen. The new HBO series is currently in production, with filming for the first season having begun in summer 2025 and a full cast confirmed as of February 2026.
Radcliffe expressed genuine support for the new venture. He commented, "It's genuinely exciting to see the story of Harry Potter get a fresh, in-depth adaptation. Having seven seasons planned for the seven books means they can really explore everything, which is something I know fans, including myself, have always wanted."
He continued, reflecting on the new generation taking on these iconic roles: "I wish Dominic McLaughlin and the entire cast nothing but the best. Playing Harry was a monumental part of my life, and I know they're stepping into something truly special. It will be fascinating to watch them bring their own interpretations to these beloved characters and the magical world." Radcliffe also briefly mentioned his thoughts on potentially joining other major franchises like Wolverine, but his affection for the Harry Potter universe was clear.
