It’s exciting news for fans following the development of the HBO Harry Potter series! Acclaimed Belgian cinematographer Christophe Nuyens, celebrated for his visually impressive contributions to shows like Andor and Lupin, has reportedly joined the production. He will be the Director of Photography for episodes overseen by director Benjamin Caron.

Benjamin Caron is an award-winning director himself, with notable credits including The Crown and Sherlock. He joins an already impressive roster of directorial talent for the first season, which includes Mark Mylod, set to direct the first two episodes, and Lucy Forbes, who will be helming episodes three and four. Caron’s specific episodes for the series have not yet been officially announced.

The HBO Original series promises a faithful adaptation of J.K. Rowling's seven original books, with plans for a decade-long production cycle spanning seven seasons. Filming for the inaugural season began in the summer of 2025 at Leavesden Studios. The highly anticipated series is expected to premiere in early 2027, offering a fresh, in-depth exploration of the Wizarding World.
